His Story in us…
In 2021 Mike began visiting people on the streets and giving them snacks and non-perishable items.
When Mike and Sarah began a special friendship in the Fall of 2021 they committed together, that wherever life would lead them, they would participate together in reaching those in need, especially those on the streets of our local cities.
Mike and Sarah got married in the summer of 2022 and occasionally cooked hot meals on cold days and took them into the city and handed them out to those living on the streets.
Christmas of 2022, they committed to put together some hygiene gift bags. Packing just over 30 bags filled with personal care and hygiene items, blankets, socks, gloves and hats, they headed into the city. Because of the extreme cold, most of the homeless population was staying in emergency shelters. The bags had to be dropped off at a shelter.
Today, meals happen consistently every Sunday and 100 Christmas gift bags are prepared each year.
“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” -Matthew 25:35-36
